Sha- Shib Flying Academy is a unit of Sha-Shib Group of Institutions, a pioneer educational group in India offering a range of courses in Engineering, Management Applied Sciences and Aviation established in Bhopal in 1994. With the introduction of airplane like Airbus 380/319/320, and Boeing 737-800/900 by Air Kingfisher Airlines , Etihad Airlines, Air India, Spice Jet, Jetlite, Air Arabia, Jet Airways there will be tremendous demand for Indian Pilots. With the most modern fleet, SFA is proud of introducing the Throp T211 / Cessna -152/Cessna-172 aircraft for the students to get new levels of skills, safety and confidence apart from making it easier for them to get adapted to the next generation aircraft.

An exclusive team of DGCA certified engineers (AMEs) & qualified technicians are retained to maintain the aircrafts which exceed the prescribed DGCA standards.

GROUND TRAINING
Sha - Shib Flying Academy team conducts approximately 350 hrs. of class room training for aspiring pilots covering a period of three to four months. Classes are conducted six days a week so as to cover the entire syllabus prescribed by the DGCA. The following subjects are taught:

FLYING TRAINING
This is the boom time in civil aviation. Aspiring pilots can't ill-afford to waste precious time in completing their flying eligibility requirements. Sha-Shib Flying Academy aims to train the students with the best bet quality within minimum time frame. Courses offered areas follows :

GROUND EXAMINATION
During the course, students will have to successfully clear the following examination conducted by the DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation and WPC, Ministry of Communication.
Students are required to take examinations stipulated by the DGCA at Bhopal or approved centers (Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkatta etc.) to qualify for their licence. The DGCA Exam schedule can be obtained from the Operations Office. The Radio Telephony exam conducted once in every two months at the various cities mentioned above.
The SFA library and resource centre is the finest in the entire country and having wide range of books, encyclopedia, reference material, journals and magazines on aviation. The training facility is supplemented by the latest audio and video instructional aids.
The Ground School has well stocked resource centre with the latest aviation publications on CDROM, DVDs, Videos, CBTs, and internet facility to support trainees from the initial level up to the ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence).

The faculty at Sha-Shib Flying Academy possesses considerable expertise and rich experience in offering quality training. The Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) and the Chief Ground Instructor (CGI) of the institute are the DGCA approved officials. AIRCRAFT
To start with SFA has at present 5 aircrafts. However Sha-Shib group proposses to acquire a total of 16 aircrafts in the coming year. In addition the group has acquired two additional Airports at Salem (Tamil Nadu) and Chindwara (M.P) from Airport authority of India and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh respectively. The management proposes to start separate flying academies at aforesaid leased Airports.
GROUND TRAINING
Ground training would be conducted in IT Enabled classroom equipped with projectors and it would be backed by high quality course material library.

Bank Loan Assistance: SFA has tied up with banks to provide loans for joining and completing training courses offered at the academy. However the discretion of granding the loan rests solely with the bank based on their loan evaluation criteria.

HOSTEL FACILITIES
We have four hostels with a total capacity of 100 students, including an exclusive girls hostel. All inmates have their food in a central dining facility. SPORTS AND GAMES
Facilities are available for playing outdoor games like volleyball, football and indoor games like chess, carom and table tennis. Facilities for playing cricket and tennis are available in and around Guna and arrangements can be made for the trainees to join such clubs.

SFA has a fleet of light vehicles and Mini Buses to transport students from hostel to training facility centre and Airport. They are also utilized forfield exercises and study visits.

Overseas students may consult the Indian Embassy / Consulate in their respective countries to obtain a student visa to study at Sha- Shib Flying Academy. A security clearance from the DGCA is required for all foreign nationals to undergo flight training in India. SFA will process the necessary clearance on behalf of the student on receipt of application form and registration fees of US $500 (non refundable ).
The payment should be made in the form of demand draft/banktransfer (in US Dollar) in favour of SFA.

Five copies of the form containing the above information are to be furnished to the Sha- Shib Flying Academy for being forwaded to Director General of Civil Aviation.
Application for admission to the course should be made in prescribed form, which is attached with the prospectus. Application Forms Properly & Correctly filled in block letters should be send along with a Registration fee of Rs. 5,000 /- Candidate seeking admission to the course should attach the following documents with the Application form. Admission is open for students qualified to enroll PPL /CPL/MER. Applicants have to register themselves by presenting the prescribed application at SFA, Guna.
MEDICAL REQUIREMENT
Candidates are required to meet the medical standard as per the norms laid down by Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), New Delhi. At the time of admission, Student will have to undergo Class II Medical with the DGCA approved medical examiners. Student are advised to do their equivalent (check) Class I medical at the time of admission. However, the candidates have to undergo a comprehensive medical investigation conducted at the Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM), Bangalore, the Central Medical Establishment (CME) This is a mandatory requirement before the issuance of the Commercial Pilot licence (CPL). MEDIUM INSTRUCTION
As per ICAO standards, medium of instruction shall be in English. This language is used for all purpose of communication, lectures or for ATC communication. For students who do not have required proficiency in English and for those who do not have fluency in the language (less than 60% in their 12, standard) additional language class is provided at extra cost.
ADMISSION CENTERS
Admission takes place throughout the year. Interested students can download a copy of application form from our website or contact our Head office at Bhopal or operation office at Guna.
Those who wish to do particular courses should check up their respective eligibility pertaining to that course.
After scrutiny of the documents and payment of fees, candidates will be issued "Letter of admission" and they should report to the AM/ Chief Flight Instructor, Sha- Shib Flying Academy at Guna for joining the program.
Students who have opted for hostel accommodation should report to the Hostel Manager SFA for the allotment of rooms.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Admissions for various courses take place in four quarters of the year depending on availability of seats.
AVAILABILITY
The application can be downloaded from the website or can be procured from Bhopal Head Office. The seats availability is also highlighted on the website for each quarter of the year.
REFUND POLICY
Tuition and other fees prescribed should be paid on or before the stipulated date as laid down in the guidelines. All fees should be made by DD in favour of SFA and receipt to be obtained immediately.
Excepting the unused portion of flying training charges, if any all kinds of fee under different heads shall not be refundable under any circumstance. The refund, if any, shall be made within a reasonable period of time, in installments. But, students suspended / dismissed on disciplinary grounds shall not be in titled for refund of unused portion of flying charges.
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
SELECTION PROCESS
A comprehensive selection procedure is followed for admission to ensure that only those who have the aptitude and the ability are admitted to the Academy. In case we find a candidate unfit for a particular course we monitor his caliber and aptitude so that he does not spend money and time on a course which may not be right for him.
WRITTEN TEST : This test forms an integral part of the selection procedure certain mandatory test parameters like basic Maths, Physics, English and paper consisting of 100 questions and the duration of the test is 90 mins. Successful applicants of the written composite paper are invited for the pilot aptitude test and Interview.
PILOT APTITUDE TEST : This test is specific to check aviation flying specific psychomotor coordination. It is a computer—based test to check psychomotor given 4 different exercises in a defined time.
Result from all the exercise will be tabulated to arrive at final results. Duration of this test 10-15 mins.
BOARD INTERVIEW : A final round of Interview is conducted for successful candidates interviewers consist of Chief Ground Instructor, Chief Flying Instructor who are from the field of aviation.
FINAL SELECTION : The final selection will be done on the basis of marks scored in the selection process.
We offer the students an opportunity to pursue a carrier in aviation, be it pilot in coming airlines or corporate pilot or trained banner to wing pilot flying or helicopter pilot or an instructor a flying school and the opportunities are endless.
Sha-Shib Flying Academy provides placement assistance for meritorious students including individual counseling. Students of SFA work in close association with their instrument towards the progress in their careers and also through the Career Advisory Service.
Meritorious students will be inducted as pilots in our Charter Division, when required.

1) What are the eligibility criteria to join CPL course ?
Educational qualification : Pass in 10+2 with maths and physics (or) Equivalent
Age : 17 years completed.
Medical : Medical fitness as per DGCA standard.
2) What is the upper age limit to join in an aviation industry as a pilot ?
Generally airlines prefers pilots between 17 to 35 years of age, however if you have flying experience and you are below the age of 60 years, you may still join.
3) Can a "commerce or arts" students join the CPL course ?
A student, who has passed 10+2 from a recognized Board with Commerce or Arts" subjects, should undergo bridge course in 10+2 with maths and physics from a recognized Board, to become eligible for CPL.
4) What is the minimum height to join the CIPI-programme ?
No minimum height prescribed. The individual has to obtain a cockpit check certified to manipulate controls and he should have an unobstructed view of the outside, as required by the aviation medical examiners.
5) What is he eyesight one must have? Are glasses permissible ?
As per DGCA standard, eyesight should be correctable to 6/6. Glasses are permissible

11) What is DGCA ?
Directorate General of Civil Aviation (D.G.C.A.) is a statutory authority under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, that issues certificate of airworthiness and licencing of personnel in India. It is the authority to issue licences to pilots and has many other roles to over see issues and effective functioning of air transportation in India.

12) How is the life of an Airline Pilot?

17) Is there any transportation from the hostel to the airport. ?
Yes, transportation is available for the pickup and drop.
18) Can I complete my DGCA Exams before I Start my flying ?
No, as per DGCA a student must complete a minimum of 50 flight hours before he/she appear for DGCA theory exams.
19) What is the eligibility criteria for a foreign student to join CPL course.?
Pass in 12 standard from a recognized Board with maths and physics as per the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi. In addition, the student has to obtain "Security Clearance" from DGCA, which normally takes one to three months.
20) How long will it take ?
DGCA conducts ground subject examination every fourth month. Once you pass the exams, which may take one or two attempts, flying training and all other formalities can be completed in approximately months
21) Where will I stay ?
Sha-Shib Flying Academy will provide all boarding and lodging arrangements at Bhopal and Guna to a limited number of students.
22) What will my training be like?
Flying and Ground training is done simultaneously on the lines of Indian Air Force. A total of 12 available related subjects will be covered extensively by qualified instructors during this period. Flying training will include ground class and flying training on single and multi engine aero planes as per DGCA approved syllabus.
23) Can I get extra hours of flying ?
Yes, at an extra cost.
24) How is the money paid for the course?
All payments are to be made to Sha-Shib Flying Academy (parental company) by Demand Draft / Local cheque payable at Bhopal.
25) What is the basic qualification and age limits ?
Student needs to have passed class Xth from a recognized board and minimum 16 years of age to Start Flying Training and obtaining Student Pilot Licence (SPL).
Student needs to have passed class Xth from a recognized board needs to have to be a minimum of 17 years of age for Private Pilot Licence (PPL).
Student needs to have passed class Xllth from a recognized board with Physics and Maths and need to have to be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of application for issue of CPL license.
Note: Student can start flying training to obtain CPL licence after passing class Xth and after attending 16 years of age along with class X1th and class XIIth study.
